The vendor is required to provide translation and interpretation services include:
• Provide language professionals qualified to perform translation and interpretation from and into English. the required languages include: Amharic ; Arabic ; Armenian ; Cantonese ; dri ; Farsi ; Hebrew ; Hindi ; Japanese ; Khmer ; Korean ; Mandarin ; Pashtun ; Russian ; Spanish ; Tagalog ; Thai ; Tigrinya ; Vietnamese ; others as need
• Perform terminology research to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and cultural appropriateness of all translation and interpretation.
• Familiarity with legal terminology in English and other languages is essential. translation and interpretation of slide presentations, press releases, fact sheets, website content, videos, social media posts, flyers, application forms, and other relevant materials, as needed; additional editing, formatting, and design of translated materials may be required.
• Interpretation services for outreach and engagement events, including, but not limited to, workshops, listening sessions, roundtables, small group meetings, one-on-one meetings, etc. events may occur in- person in various locations across the city or via telephone and videoconference.
- Interpretation services may include administrative hearings and appeals.
• Provide real-time, over-the-phone translators within 60 seconds of receiving a request for interpretation with a constituent.
• Over-the-phone language services must be available at a minimum, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. delivery of timely and high-quality translation and interpretation, with use of proper terminology, and accuracy in language and structure. - Interpretation services:
• Agency anticipates holding, on average, two virtual events per month; most events will require live Spanish interpretation as well as American Sign Language (ASL), but may also require interpretation of other languages.
• The civil rights enforcement unit requires live interpreters for phone inquiries and complaints intake. • Interpretation services may also be required for civil and human rights violation hearings and appeals.
• These may be done via zoom or in-person.
- Translation services:
• Agency anticipates the need to translate an estimated 18 - 24 event flyers per year with an estimated 100 words per flyer. (18-24 event flyers x 100 average words = 1800 - 2,400 words annually).there will also be a need to translate legal documents with the launch of the civil rights enforcement Unit.
