The Vendor is required to provide simultaneous American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services both ways between spoken English and ASL, including tactile signing as needed.
- In person
• Interpreters must arrive at the designated service location no later than 15 minutes prior to the job start time and remain until dismissed by the commission contract manager or his designee.
- Video remote interpreting (pre-scheduled)
• The ASL interpretation services shall be performed via video remote interpreting (VRI) for virtual meetings via videoconferencing platforms including WebEx, Microsoft teams and zoom, video relay services (VRS) or telecommunication relay services (TRS).
• Interpreters must test their ability to log into the meeting invite and be in the meeting five (5) minutes prior to meeting start.
- Video remote interpreting (on-demand)
• On-demand is defined as being able to connect to an interpreter within sixty (60) seconds.
• The on demand ASL interpreting services shall be performed via video remote interpreting (VRI) for virtual meetings supporting and utilizing videoconferencing platforms including WebEx, Microsoft teams, and zoom, video relay services (VRS) or telecommunication relay services (TRS).
• Written instructions for commission employees to access the on-demand ASL interpreting services.
