The Vendor is required to provide for interpreting services for the department for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Provides interpreting services, on an as needed basis, at locations throughout state.
- The service providers may be an individual or a business/agency with multiple interpreters.
- Dress professionally and appropriately for all assignments.
- Keep assignment related information strictly confidential.
- Represent department in a professional and ethical manner.
- refrain from making any oral or written statements to any third parties that are disparaging of department.
- Responsible for reviewing and being familiar with the code tenets, guiding principles, and illustrative behaviors.
- It is understood and agreed that all contractor personnel assigned to department are the employees of the contractor and all wages, vacation/holiday pay, insurance and taxes relating to their employment
- The contractor shall not directly or indirectly solicit or compete for business of any customer, including but not limited to: distribution of business cards, telephone numbers, or other contact information for other agencies or individuals other than department.
- All involved, with ample notice, if it appears the assignment will not be completed by the scheduled end time and shall not walk out of the assignment in an unprofessional manner.
- Interns/students shadowing the contractor must be approved by the department in advance
- Department assignment requests are sent out to all contractors who reside within a reasonable radius of the assignment location.
- Assignments are allocated to contractors on a first come, first serve basis according to credentialing and best fit for each assignment.
- The contractor shall report services rendered more than requested time or other factors affecting invoicing to department within 24 hours of occurrence.
- Interpreting services –
• In-person interpreting services – maximum rate $75.00 per hour - include after hours, weekends, and holidays
• Virtual interpreting services – maximum rate $70.00 per hour -include after hours, weekends, and holidays.
