The Vendor is required to provide multi-language interpretation services to offenders for parole board state hearings, medical or mental health assessments, as well as nonspecific meetings between offenders and agency staff or contractors.
- To provide multiple resources (interpreters) to assist with consecutive and simultaneous Multilanguage interpretation services both in-person and virtually in the region.
- A minimum of seven (7) multi-language resources must be available at all times.
- Must provide a list of security cleared personnel to the contracting authority quarterly for verification at any given time.
- When in-person (onsite) interpretation services are required, the contractor must provide the qualified resource closest to the location where services are required.
- Personnel must provide virtual (offsite) interpretation service via teleconference or video conference from the contractor’s place of business, where confidentiality can be guaranteed, such as an enclosed boardroom or office.
- Personnel must not make any recordings of any kind and must not hold or retain any information related to the service.
- Prior to booking in-person (onsite) interpretation services, the agency site must consider whether the contractor can provide the service by teleconference or video conference.
- Must ensure that the individual resources provide interpretation services impartially.
- For multi-language interpretation, the contractor must ensure that the individual resources are certified and in good standing with the association, or other provincial equivalent under the council.
