The Vendor is required to provide translation services to be provided on an “as-needed” basis.
- Translation services
• Translate source language text to target language text as specified by the purchaser, adapt, localize and proofread and deliver translations to the purchaser.
• Review and recommend revisions of display advertising or posters or signage containing graphics or images and minimal target language text.
• Translate urgent information that needs to be relayed to emergencies, such as wildfires, floods and resulting evacuations.
• Translate news releases and content for international media outlets.
• Adapt terms in English to words or phrases in the target language with the same intended meaning, avoiding strict translations that imply a pejorative or unintended meaning.
• Inform or provide advice to the purchaser where phonetic pronunciation of an English word, name or phrase used by the purchaser has a pejorative or unintended meaning in another language.
• Localize words in target languages to convey a consistent meaning for native speakers of the language in state.
• Proofread text in target languages to ensure appropriate spelling, grammar, style and usage, including with respect to adaptation and localization.
• Audio tracks in the target language for dubbing or voice overs upon request.
• Create transliterations of terms or names.
• Transcribe audio from a source language to a target language.
• Create target language subtitles or captions from scripts or audio/video tracks.
• Provide separate invoices for each French translation job.
• Each translation job is to be invoiced; one (1) itemized invoice for all target languages except French, and one (1) for the French translation.
