The Vendor is required to provide the American Sign Language (ASL) services would be used during customer scheduled briefings, onsite meetings and one-on-one trainings with customers who are deaf.
- Provides language access to LEP/NEP under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, agency must ensure that individuals with disabilities, including those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, have equal access to programs, services, and activities.
- Must provide auxiliary aids and services, including qualified sign language interpreters.
- Need American Sign Language services for meetings, briefings, events and onsite customer engagement on an as needed basis to include after hours on weekdays, weekends, Federal holidays, state holidays, and agency shutdowns.
- Provide on-site or remote sign language interpretation services on an as needed basis. Services will include, but are not limited to:
• Tenant Interviews and Recertification’s
• Lease Signings and Briefings
• Public Meetings or Hearings
• Eviction or Grievance Proceedings
• Resident Council Meetings
• Inspections and Maintenance Visits
• Reasonable Accommodation Requests
• Workforce Development or Resident Services Programs
• Emergency Communications
- Interpreter
• Must be a qualified interpreter under ADA standards.
• Hold a valid certification from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent credentialing body.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other modalities when required (e.g., Signed Exact English, tactile interpreting).
