American Sign Language Interpreters Services

The vendor is required to provide sign language interpreters, american sign language (ASL) interpreters for parents, employees, and community members, to fill on-demand, temporary, part-time, or full-time positions.
•    Provide on-demand, temporary, part-time, or full-time personnel for educational sign language and ASL interpreter community positions. 
•    Be available to work in any district or location and be local to the area. 
•    Be available for short/part/full time assignments on as needed basis. 
•    Advanced interpreting skills (voice to sign and sign to voice).
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. 
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others. 
•    Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups with students. 
•    Ability to stay abreast of and follow both the registry of interpreters for the deaf, inc. (RID) code of professional conduct and the educational interpreter performance assessment professional conduct guidelines. 
•    Collaborate with teachers of the deaf and centered based programs when appropriate. 
•    Maintain continuity in educational services while the permanent staff is hired or during temporary staffing needs.
•    Support ongoing academic programs by filling short-term staffing gaps. 
•    Pass a comprehensive fingerprinting background check and provide certifications. 
•    Interpreters shall be placed only when fingerprints and background checks have been completed and approved by district human resources. 
•    Interpreters may need to be engaged in district training as needed. 
•    Must keep comprehensive documents of services provided to student’s district. 
•    Hold the required certifications for their position and must provide a copy of the license. 
o    Active CDE educational interpreter authorization for education 
o    NIC certificate or equivalent for parents, district employees, and community-based interpretation.
