Translation Services

The Vendor is required to provide for English to French and French to English translation services on an “as and when required” basis.
- Reputable translation service agencies with demonstrated expertise in post-secondary education, academic research, particularly in psychology and mental health—and subject matter related to public safety personnel. 
- Agency representatives must be fluent in both English and French.
- successful agency will have the capacity to translate academic language, terminology related to mental health and psychology, educational content, and lay language, while effectively conveying cultural nuances.
- Translation of website content, including social media posts to engage Francophone researchers, safety and other stakeholders.
- Translation of all marketing materials, policy briefs, lay summaries, presentations and other materials.
- Translation of teaching materials and lessons such as stories, worksheets, handbooks, manuals, presentations, etc. and translation of lesson plans. 
- Work will be edited and proofread. 
- Translations will be harmonized among the various media.
- Editing all existing translated content to harmonize with ongoing revisions on a needs-basis.
- Technical proofing to ensure translated content is correct when applied to relevant medium.
- Final editing/proofreading of all translated content after insertion by the University in web or print form.  ¬- Service for social media and web posting is expected to be a high priority with ideally less than twenty-four (24) hour turnaround time.
- Service for short documents (two pages or less) is expected in one (1) week.
- Translation services should have previous experience translating, language relating to public safety personnel (e.g., police, fire, paramedics, and border security) as well as terminology used in psychology.
