The Vendor is required to provide for translation and interpretation services to be for all schools.
- It is important to note that the families who speak languages other than English include American Sign Language (ASL).

- Provide translation and interpretation services is essential to assist districts in being compliant with all federal and district regulations requiring communicating with families in languages they best understand.
- These services provide:
• Linguistic and literacy information on the student’s first language proficiency
• Linguistic and literacy information on the student’s English language proficiency
• Preferred language for documents to be translated in the parents’ native language
• Preferred language for communicating with parents
• Complete initial placement, individual interview, and parent orientation session
- Provide list of languages by categories:
• over the phone interpretation
• in-person interpretation
• video remote interpretation
• document translation
- Provide a list of languages for which they are able to conduct translation and interpretation.
- The minimum capacity of 30 languages, other than English, is required.
- It is important to note that this list must include American Sign Language (ASL).
- The top 10 target languages in western state:
• Spanish
• Karen
• Bengali
• Somali
• Arabic
• Pashto
• Swahili
• Urdu
• Burmese
• Dari
- Translation, subtitling, and voice over recordings for automated “robocalls,” family webinars, and other needs
- Interpretation must be provided by a qualified interpreter using the mode most appropriate for the situation. This may include in-person, telephone, video conferencing, or automated “robocalls,” depending on the needs of the individuals involved.
- Translation may be conducted off-site, and documents provided to district and/or family in the target language, English and/or American Sign Language (ASL).
