The vendor required to provide virtual and in person interpreting services in various Mexican indigenous languages for board meetings, advisory committee meetings, conferences, outreach events, or other related events held at various locations.
- Interpreter requirements
• Qualified interpreters are bilingual individuals that speak at least two (2) languages fluently and are able to accurately interpret in both languages.
• Qualified interpreters are trained, but not tested for their language skills by any certified entities, and they are usually used for non-legal settings and matters, like client meetings and conversational sessions.
- Interpretation services
• Interpretation services shall be provided onsite, in person or virtually at various locations throughout state.
• Provide interpretation services on an as-needed bases as specified by agency.
• Interpreter(s) must arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of each in person meeting.
• If the meeting is virtual, interpreters should log-in 15 minutes before the start time to ensure connectivity, sound and video checks are completed.
• Camera is required to be turned on.
• Interpreters must be able to express ideas in the other language instantly, accurately, and completely in appropriate style; and with the intent of the original speaker.
• Paraphrasing the original speaker will not be allowed.
• For virtual interpretations, interpreters should be in an appropriate setting for providing services such as noise-free environment that will not disrupt a hearing, professional background image and interruption free environment.
