The Vendor is required to provide for American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Services to support the effective communication needs during all required public meetings and during meetings or early intervention service delivery with families who need interpretation services.
- Responsible for delivering these vital interpreting services, thereby facilitating effective communication for attendees with hearing impairments at all required public meetings.
- 24 hours / 7 days a week / 365 days per year on call interpreting services for the deaf, including holidays
- 5 - 10 minute response, 30 - 45 minute arrival time
- Main phone number for services (601) 201-2577; back-up number if needed (601) 201-5939 interpreting services between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (for interpreting services rendered) with a two-hour minimum.
- $55.00 an hour for interpreting services between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. (for interpreting services rendered) with a two-hour minimum.
- Compensation is payable no later than 30 days from the billing date.
- Service Requirements:
• Provide on-site interpretation services for all planned meetings and the conference, with the capability to interpret for both in-person and virtual attendance.
• Availability of interpreters fluent in both ASL and English, with the ability to manage technical vocabulary specific to institute discussions.

- Provide contingency plans for interpreter coverage, including backup options in case of illness or emergency.
- Confirm interpreter assignments at least two weeks prior to each scheduled meeting or event.
- Interpreters must arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of meetings or the conference to allow for setup and a pre-event meeting.
- For virtual events, interpreters must have the necessary equipment and software to provide high-quality interpretation services, including access to a reliable internet connection and appropriate audio/visual setup.
- In-person interpretation must occur in a setting that accommodates the needs of participants, including appropriate seating arrangements and visibility.
- Interpreters are expected to stay for the entire duration of the meeting or conference, including all scheduled breaks.
