The Vendor is required to provide language access translation services for include:
- Offer a range of interpretation and translation service types across multiple languages
• on-demand, phone interpretation service
• on-demand, video interpretation service
• on-site, consecutive interpretation service (meetings)
• on-site, simultaneous interpretation service (events)
• document translation service, including highly technical reports
- Host a cloud platform that manages translation and interpretation requests and provides the following capabilities:
• Create user accounts assigned to a specific school site, allowing invoicing to be reflect the requestor and site
• Users can access on-demand interpretation services, schedule on-site interpretation requests, send and receive documents for translation, and communicate with assigned service providers
• Data analysis capability for individual sites and across all sites that includes: language distribution, usage per service type across consecutive, simultaneous interpretation, and translation (number of requests and by minutes)
• Invoicing that specifies requesting user, requesting site, type of service, length of service, assigned service provider, and description of service
- Facilitate in-person trainings as requested to achieve the following objectives:
• Train bilingual staff in the ethics and standards of interpretation should they be tasked with lower-tier language access requests (i.e., intercom announcements, field trip flyers) at their school site
• Train front line staff (front office, administration, teachers) for an assigned school site on the protocol for requesting translation and interpretation services through the contractor’s cloud platform, set standards for “tiers” of language access needs and federal requirements of language access for LEP families.
