The Vendor is required to provide to American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, translation, and virtual services for individuals and staff at center.
- The ASL Language Interpreter(s) provided by the contractor and assigned work at the facility shall carry out their assignments in accordance with policies and procedures of the facility, state laws, rules, and regulations, and in accordance with the direction of agency project representatives or their designees.
- Provide ASL Interpreters that are proficient in interpreting the requested language to English and hold a valid and current certification of any of the following:
• Certificate of Interpretation
• Certificate of Translation and Interpretation
• Comprehensive Skill Certificate
- Interpreters are required to abide by all policies related to professional conduct at all times while interpreting.
- Provide ASL Interpretation up to, but not more than 40 hours per week, per interpreter, for up to 52 weeks, as requested by agency Project Representatives or their designees.
- ASL Interpretation services shall be provided during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding recognized State holidays.
- The ASL Interpreter(s) shall report to agency Program Unit Supervisor upon arrival or departure to sign in and out of the facility prior to leaving grounds.
- The ASL Interpreter(s) will not perform services after hours, on weekends, or holidays without the express written consent of agency Project Representatives, or their designees.
- The ASL Interpreter shall meet at the prearranged date and time of the individual’s appointment.
- Responsible for communicating with the ASL Interpreter regarding off-site medical appointments.
- The ASL Interpreter is responsible for utilizing their own form of transportation for the appointment.
