Translation Services

The Vendor is required to provide written translation of all election materials including official ballot text, voter information guide text, and other election and non-election related materials, into Spanish, Filipino, Chinese and Vietnamese languages.
- Translate facsimile ballots and other materials into Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Lao, Persian, Somali, Hindi, Hmong, Indonesian, Khmer and Thai languages.
- Maintain translation uniformity and continuity within documents and across all documents.
- Provide typesetting, Adobe Acrobat or compatible program interfacing, and quality assurance services.
- Provide translation services for scheduled elections which include statewide primary elections in June (or March for presidential primary elections), and statewide general elections in November of every even-numbered year.
- Ensure the quality of the translated material content including consistency of translations across all pages.
- Provide the services described herein to the following target population: County registered voters, including populations who speak the following languages: Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Lao, Persian, Somali, Hindi, Hmong, Indonesian, Khmer and Thai.

- The current languages required in County are English, Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Additionally, facsimile ballots and/or other materials may require translation into Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Lao, Persian, Somali, Hindi, Hmong, Indonesian, Khmer and Thai.
- Provide translation services for unanticipated elections and other election-related materials during the term of the contract. Unanticipated elections may include, but are not limited to, vacancy, recall, measure, incorporation, and district elections.
- Provide a PDF version of all translations to the Registrar of Voters (ROV) during the editing process. The final PDF versions of the translations shall be formatted and accompanied by the document in Microsoft Word.
- possess the ability to translate and produce hypertext markup language (html) web pages, if requested.
- provide translations in electronic format, currently Adobe Suite and MS Office, which is compatible with the version used by the ROV.
