The Vendor is required to provide of telephonic foreign language interpreting services to be used to provide telephonic interpreting services for the limited English speaking population seeking emergency services from the city division services through the city 911 emergency communications center, on a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week, 365 day a year (24/7/365) basis.
- Interpreters must be familiar with legal, medical and law enforcement terminology in an emergency and non-emergency setting. Interpreters will be required to translate from English to multiple languages and from multiple languages to English.
- To provide prompt, efficient, and timely service to the city 911 emergency communications center and the public served, the contractor must be able to seamlessly connect, and maintain connection to, existing city 911 emergency communications center room telephone systems, to ensure uninterrupted calls and subsequent emergency services to the public.
- Interpreters will maintain all relevant professional licenses and certifications associated with language translation services.
- Provide in addition to telephone translation such as on-demand video or text interpretation services.
