The Vendor is required to provide sign language interpreting and tutoring services to various District schools and sites.
- Provide sign language interpreting, classroom interaction, and tutoring services at various district school and sites, including but not limited to interpretation in the classroom and school wide student events.
- Services for District student through interpreting, classroom interaction, tutoring, and as needed, other student needs during school hours.
- Interpret presented material accurately and completely.
- Convey concepts and facilitate the student’s understanding of the educational material.
- Appropriately prepare for content and message delivery to meet the needs of the student.
- Ensure appropriate logistics for background noise levels, environmental lighting, student seating and use of adaptive devices.
- Utilize any specialized tools that may be needed to perform the services.
- Adhere to Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf code of professional conduct.
- Refrain from assisting or providing answers to classwork or homework.
- Refrain from asking specific questions about student’s academic progress and/or personal life.
- All rates must be fixed hourly rates, inclusive of all overhead costs. All minimums, premiums, and cancellation terms must be clearly stated. No additional fees will be permitted unless explicitly approved by the District in writing. This would include, but is not limited to, the following:
• Administrative, scheduling, or coordination fees
• Technology, platform, or portal access fees
• Any form of interpreter cancellation insurance
• Interpreter recruitment, training, or certification costs
• Miscellaneous or “convenience” or surcharges
- Provide any tiered volume discounts (based on monthly or annual hours)
- Hours will be billed in no less than fifteen (15) minute increments.
