The Vendor is required to provide sign language interpretation (SLI) services primarily include, but are not limited to, facilitating communication from spoken English to sign language and from sign language to spoken English.
- Requirement:
• SLI services shall be performed only by the contractor’s staff and subcontractors who meet the requirements of this agreement.
• SLI services at a board proceeding may include, but are not necessarily limited to, interpretation of spoken English into sign language and interpretation of sign language into spoken English.
• SLI services at a board proceeding may also include translation of documents with legal, medical, and psychological terminology written in English into sign language.
• All SLI services provided by the contractor for an IP shall be in person, with all interpreters physically present with the IP, unless exigent circumstances, as determined by the board, necessitate the SLI services be provided remotely.
• If exigent circumstances require remote SLI services, services shall be provided via the Microsoft teams video conference platform, unless a different video conference platform is otherwise identified by the board upon request for services.
• All SLI services provided by the contractor for a participant at a board proceeding other than an IP shall be in person, with all interpreters physically present with the person for whom they are providing SLI services, unless otherwise specified by the board when requesting services.
• SLI services from the contractor, the board shall provide the contractor with a confirmation letter via email.
• SLI services between one (1) and five (5) months prior to a board proceeding at which SLI services are needed.
• Compensated for each assignment in quarter-hour (¼) increments at this hourly rate for each quarter-hour (¼) of SLI services provided after 4:30 p.m. to complete the interpretation assignment
• Assigned interpreters to provide SLI services and complete any board proceedings that do not conclude until after 4:30 p.m.
