The Vendor is required to provide rare language interpretation services for the claimant’s hearing with the board.
- Proceeding room interpretation services
• Provide interpreter resources who can interpret consecutively (interpretation after each speaker has finished) both from the target language and dialect as well as other rare languages and dialects into English or French and from English or French into the target language or dialect.
• Contractor at the time of booking which language or dialect and which official language (English or French) will be required of the contractor’s interpreter resources.
• The nature of interpretation services, the contractor must provide interpreter resources who are available locally to provide interpretation services in-person
- Non-proceeding room interpretation services
• Interpretation services at board prehearing conferences.
• Translation of other short documents.
- Quality assurance auditing services
• Assess the quality of interpretation of the hearing sent by the board using the provided materials;
• Complete the “interpretation audit” form following the instructions of the “instructions for auditors”;
• Date and sign the marking sheet, as well as print their name legibly.
