Dual Language Professional Development Services

The Vendor is required to provide consultation and professional development services that support the implementation and sustainability of dual language program instructional approaches designed to promote the success of multilingual learners.
- Services will align with the three pillars of dual language education: bilingualism, academic achievement, and sociocultural competence.
- Professional development will focus on effective instructional practices in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with intentional integration of cross-linguistic connections and bridging between Spanish and English.
- Training and support will be designed for pre-k–12 teachers and administrators and will include embedded, on-site coaching to strengthen implementation and long-term sustainability as part of the district’s broader dual language program goals.
- Services are expected to include professional learning sessions, collaborative planning, site visits, job-embedded coaching for teachers and administrators, consultation with district staff, and ongoing follow-up support.
- A of focus include the development and implementation of a comprehensive pre-k–12 biliteracy framework that incorporates translanguaging pedagogy and culturally and linguistically sustaining instructional practices.

• Implementation of a cohesive pre-k–12 biliteracy framework
• Train the trainer model
• Improved reading achievement and assessment growth in both languages
• Increased graduation rates for English language learners (ells)
• Increased progress on district ELPA scores
• Improved performance on state and local assessments for emergent bilingual students
• Increased family and community engagement for multilingual learners and their families
• Strengthened instructional capacity of teachers and administrators to support dual language and multilingual programs.
