The Vendor is required to provide sign language interpreter services for students, staff, and families who are deaf or hard of hearing who use American sign language (ASL) or other visual communication systems, in accordance with the individuals with disabilities education act (idea), the rehabilitation act, and the Americans with disabilities act (ADA).
- Requirement:
• General education and special education classrooms
• Related service sessions (e.g., speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, etc.)
• In-person interpretation at school meetings
• Field trips and extracurricular activities
• School-wide assemblies and events
• Community events(district graduation ceremonies and district community meetings)
• Staff professional development meetings
• Virtual interpretation via telephone or video conferencing platforms (e.g., zoom, Microsoft teams, google meet)
• Emergency or unscheduled interpretation requests with the ability to mobilize on short notice.
