The Vendor is required to provide sign language interpretation services may include, but are not limited to, classroom instruction, academic activities, meetings, college events, and other approved accommodation needs.
- American sign language (ASL) interpreters and other communication professionals, as appropriate, to ensure effective communication and equal access to educational programs, services, activities, meetings, and events in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including the Americans with disabilities act (ADA), section 504 of the rehabilitation act, and the family educational rights and privacy act (FERPA).
- Interpreter services shall include the accurate, complete, and impartial interpretation of spoken and written English into American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by the individual, as well as the interpretation of ASL or other communication modes into spoken English.
- Interpreters shall provide services in a professional manner, adhering to recognized standards of ethics and confidentiality while facilitating effective communication without altering or omitting content.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels to provide timely interpreter services for classroom instruction, laboratories, testing, student services, meetings, orientations, campus events, employee functions, and other college-related activities.
