- Tasks
1. Agency content assessment and project plan development
• Review current agency website, content, datasets, and propose presentation, engagement and visualization upgrade.
• Deliver a stakeholder and user consultation assessment report with findings and recommendations.
• Develop project plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Identify key features to implement (dashboards, map visualizations, storytelling) in collaboration with the office requests, needs, and vision.
• Define technical requirements, information architecture, data visualization tools, and content management system.
• Establish information architecture and content migration plan.
2. Website design
• Develop wireframes and prototypes for key pages (homepage, data sections, reports, search tools).
• Incorporate responsive design functionality optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile in collaboration with the office requests, needs and vision.
• Ensure all electronic information technology developed or provided under this contract shall comply with the applicable requirements of the state electronic information technology disability access standards.
• Apply accessibility best practices
• Create an updated visual identity aligned with office branding approved by the office.
3. Website development and featured functions and tools
• Develop a secure front-facing platform with search and query responsive functionality.
• Migrate existing datasets and content.
• Implement advanced search and filtering tools for datasets.
• Integrate interactive data visualization (e.g., tables, charts, graphs).
• Incorporate geographic locational search and filtering functionality.
• Enable secure user document download capability (pdfs, spreadsheets, datasets).
• Develop a user-friendly content management interface providing the ability for office staff to upload different types of datasets, data imagery, narratives, and documents.
• Optional user sign-up for notifications of dataset updates and uploads
• Compliance with federal and state data security standards.
• Installation of analytics throughout the website to track user numbers and demographics, and collection and document access.
4. Testing and quality assurance
• Cross-browser, cross-device, and cross-operating system testing.

5. Training and documentation
• Provide training sessions for office staff on content management, uploading datasets, and using new tools.
