The vendor required to provide executive recruitment services, which may include but are not limited to:
1. Position development and project planning
• Meet with the board of trustees, and staff to understand organizational needs, priorities, and expectations.
• Develop a detailed recruitment timeline.
• Assist in updating or drafting the town manager job description.
• Identify key competencies and leadership attributes.
• Assist the board in developing, discussing, and reaching consensus on requirements for applicants, all components of the candidate selection
• Assist with board and staff with the interview process with finalists
2. Community and stakeholder engagement
• Facilitate opportunities for input from the board, staff, and community.
• Develop and conduct surveys, listening sessions, or focus groups (as directed by the town).
3. Candidate recruitment
• Conduct national outreach using professional networks and associations.
• Develop and distribute a professional recruitment profile and job brochure.
• Advertise the position appropriately to ensure a diverse, competitive pool.
• Actively source candidates, including passive recruitment.
4. Screening and evaluation
• Review applications and assess qualifications
• Conduct preliminary candidate interviews.
• Provide detailed candidate summaries and recommendations.
• Assist in narrowing the semi-finalist and finalist pools.
5. Selection process support
• Coordinate interview scheduling and logistics.
• Prepare interview materials, questions, exercises, and evaluation tools.
• Facilitate finalist interviews, meet-and-greets, community sessions, or assessment centers (as directed).
• Conduct reference, background, and credential checks.
6. Negotiation and transition
• Provide support during contract negotiation.
• Assist with onboarding and transition planning for the incoming town manager.
