The vendor required to provide human resources (HR) with temporary employment services for a two-year term, with a renewal option of up to an additional twenty-four (24) months.
- Requirement:
• Provide qualified temporary employment personnel to district as requested.
• Collect, fax, scan, or otherwise obtain district -approved timesheets on a biweekly basis and provide the payroll checks to district accounting section for all the temporary workers every other Wednesday, no later than 10:00 a.m., in alignment with district payroll schedule.
• Deduct, withhold, and remit all federal, state, and local taxes and insurance as required by law, including but not limited to federal and state income taxes, unemployment insurance, and social security contributions.
• Provide workers’ compensation insurance for each temporary worker in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare, file, and submit all required reports, taxes, fees, and insurance documentation to employees and applicable governmental agencies, as required by law.
• Administer, process, and, when appropriate, defend all workers’ compensation and unemployment benefit claims.
• Provide other services that district may request, provided such services are generally within the scope of this agreement.
• The successful firm will be responsible for conducting background checks and motor vehicle records for potential temporary employment candidates.
• District may require, where necessary, and out of state background checks.
• District may have other positions that are not listed here in the RFP that become available, such as the temporary employees to deliver notices to residential and other locations to notify them of upcoming roadway projects, etc.
• This activity would require the temporary employee to walk several miles a day.
• Certain temporary employee positions require a high school diploma or GED.
• As a rule of thumb, positions of a professional nature often require a high school diploma or GED as a minimum requirement, while positions of a blue-collar nature would not.
• District will provide any personal protective equipment (PPE) for the temporary employee as required for the nature of the work.
• Most of the temporary employment positions are full-time.
• Depending on the weather, temporary employees may or may not work 40 hours per week.
• Interns are limited to 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer and other school breaks.
• District employs temporary employees for up to eight months.
• Temporary employees will have access to district grounds and parking at no fee or charge.
• The successful firm must provide the temporary employees needed by district secondary suppliers and subcontract providers of temporary employees are not permitted.
• Depending on the location of work being performed, there could be some overtime.
• District average hourly wage can range from $16.00 - $20.00.
• Only one vendor will be awarded the temporary employment services agreement for all positions described in this contract.
