The Vendor is required to provide to identify qualified professional consulting firms to conduct a five-year tourism strategy for both the township and the organization
- This strategy will support year-round tourism development in the township and will guide staff, council and the organization in allocating the revenue generated by municipal accommodation tax (MAТ).
- The consultant will deliver a tourism strategy that includes, at a high level:
1. Situational overview
• A concise assessment of the local tourism landscape, including key assets, market positioning, seasonal dynamics, and gaps or opportunities.
2. Vision and strategic priorities
• A clear tourism vision supported by guiding principles and a set of strategic priorities to direct tourism development over the five-year period.
3. Strategic recommendations
• Actionable and realistic recommendations to support extended stay four-season visitation with an emphasis on shoulder season, enhance visitor experiences, and strengthen the local tourism economy, including consideration of natural features, arts, culture, and heritage as part of destination development and storytelling.
4. Destination management and marketing plan
• A high-level destination management and marketing plan that identifies target markets, positioning, priority experiences, and recommended approaches to promotion and partnerships, aligned with the roles of the township and organization.
5. Implementation framework
• A practical implementation plan outlining priority actions, roles and responsibilities, indicative timelines, and performance measures to track progress.
6. Governance and funding considerations
• High-level guidance on township- organization alignment, use of mat revenues, and opportunities.
