The Vendor is required to provide for the development of an Accessibility Strategic Plan.
- This Plan will assess the Town’s current level of accessibility and its efforts to provide a barrier-free environment, identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, provide a comprehensive roadmap to maintain and enhance legislative compliance, and recommend strategies, timelines, and measurable outcomes to advance accessibility across municipal services, facilities, and operations.
- Parks Technician within Infrastructure Services, responsible for accessibility considerations related to parks, trails, and public spaces
- Marketing and engagement coordinator within administration and human resources, responsible for ensuring accessibility in all marketing, communications, and advertising materials
- Members of the building division of the development services department are chiefly responsible for built environment accessibility of all private development in the municipality
- Public and Stakeholder Engagement
• Develop and implement a consultation process with key stakeholders, including – but not limited to – municipal staff, Council, community members, and the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
• Incorporate feedback into the Strategic Plan.
- Implementation Framework
• Recommend policies, programs, and initiatives to advance accessibility across municipal services, facilities, and operations.
• Provide guidance on monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement.
