- Placement and insurance management services
• Consult with agency to formulate a marketing strategy that focuses on delivering a cost-effective risk management strategy and structure based upon current market conditions.
• Agree upon and meet agency schedules for submissions and other work product.
• Suggest innovative coverage and risk financing solutions to reduce agency cost of risk.
• Prepare submissions for underwriters.
• Work with agency to produce comprehensive underwriting data and criteria for insurance carrier negotiations.
• Broker will coordinate database of insured values. broker will coordinate the procurement of all underwriting information. represent agency in negotiations with insurers, underwriters and other parties with regards to the insurance program.
• Marketing and selection of carriers for property and casualty insurance. formally present coverage submissions to agreed-upon insurance carrier(s).
• Negotiate terms, conditions and price with insurance carrier(s) on behalf of agency.
• Prepare renewal binders and invoices, review policies and endorsements and resolve coverage issues. • Annually, coordinate and provide agency with copies of catastrophe analysis studies to be used in the marketing of the property insurance program.
• Summarize the results of executing the marketing strategy developed with agency and communicate program recommendations.
• Provide consultation to agency on exposures, existing coverage, and the desirability and feasibility of potential program changes.
• Request change endorsements, when requested by agency or when otherwise necessary, ensuring accuracy and delivery in a timely manner.
• Administration of insurance program, including extensive policy review and issuance, invoicing, coordination and issuance of required documentation, i.e., automobile identification cards, certificates of insurance, and other program administration, as required by agency.
• Review accounting and billing data received from insurance markets on agency behalf to ensure accuracy.
• Provide agency risk management department staff with access to risk management documents and insurance policies on-line and provide appropriate training to agency staff for effective use of system.
• Except with the prior written approval of agency, place insurance on behalf of agency with insurers that meet or exceed minimum financial guidelines or a best rating of not less than “a- “as assigned by a.m. best.
• Monitor published financial information of any insurers with whom agency coverage is placed. alert agency if the status of an insurer falls below a.m. best guidelines herein.
• As requested, consult and meet with agency, its counsel, or other to provide risk management and insurance coverage information and expertise.
• Provide illustrative workers compensation experience modification factors for member colleges on an annual basis.
• Assist agency, as requested, with program cost allocation to members.
• Interpret coverage and offer risk management advice about the insurance program and plan document as requested.
• Consult with agency, as requested, concerning agency coverage documents and make recommendations for modifications as appropriate.
• Facilitate, as requested, the introduction of new members to agency program.
• Facilitate, as requested, the collection of member exposure data including electronic data collection wherever possible or feasible.
• Obtain proper return premiums necessitated by mid-term cancellations when required and validate any additional premiums for accuracy.
• Provide input regarding coverage issues outside of agency regular program.
• Review of client contracts to determine if additional risk exposures are present and to provide recommended insurance requirements.
• Conduct on-site renewal meeting(s) with agency to discuss renewal strategies and to present final renewal proposal and discuss options.
• Attend risk management operations committee meetings (typically, 3 per year) and council of president’s meetings, and other meetings, as requested.
• Issue requested certificates of insurance in a timely manner.
• Cooperate with third-party administrators and other contracted professionals.
• Proposers should provide annual stewardship reports to both the consortium and to each individual participating college.
- Loss control services
• Provide loss control advocacy services as requested.
• Develop, with agency assistance and involvement, loss control programs and strategies, including educational training, seminars, research and analysis of loss trends, and develop communication materials. provide, at a minimum, quarterly reporting detailing the loss control activities and results.
• Loss control services will not be limited to property exposures but will also support the agency workers’ compensation program and other safety initiatives.
• Coordinate loss control requests from insurance carriers. provide loss control advocacy services as requested.
• Develop, with agency assistance and involvement, loss control programs and strategies, including educational training, seminars, research and analysis of loss trends, and develop communication materials.
• Provide, at a minimum, quarterly reporting detailing the loss control activities and results.
• Loss control services will not be limited to property exposures but will also support the agency workers’ compensation program and other safety initiatives.
• Coordinate loss control requests from insurance carriers.
- Administrative support
• Provide administrative support services to agency risk management department.
• This staff member will work with broker and agency staff to manage certificate of insurance issuance, update and coordinate risk management insurance policy files, assist in statement of values development, and provide other administrative support services as agreed between broker and agency.
- Claims advocacy
• Provide claims advocacy services, as requested, including continuation of claim reviews and other claims related assistance, as requested, including assistance with cat claims.
• Participate in claims review meetings to ensure accuracy of reserves and effective claims management.
• Coordinate claim information with designated adjusters.
• Assist with emergency procedures and disaster planning.
• Assist with claim and coverage disputes.
