The vendor is required to provide nursing services for the district per requirements outlined and indicated herein for registered nurses (RNs), and licensed practical nurses (LPNs).
- The district will primarily utilize LPNs for FTE contracted staffing needs and RN shifts will be scheduled “per diem”.
- Nursing assignments vary depending on the needs at district.
- Nurses will be expected to work a maximum 6.5 hours/day, 32 hours per week.
- The proposer shall provide the following goods or services, but not limited to:
• Provide on staff a coordinator of nurses/nurse supervisor as a direct point of contact for district child health department.
• Provide medical treatment customary for RNs and LPNs to students and/or staff in the event of an emergency.
• Plan and implement treatment based on physicians’ orders.
• All students requiring medical services must provide orders from an MD.
• Consult with student’s physician as necessary.
• Maintain nursing notes (documentation) on every person to whom care is provided.
• Provide documentation of care to parent and/or guardian
• Document medication administration and/or healthcare procedures.
• Provide monthly reports to the coordinator of nurses/nurse supervisor.
• Each nurse shall submit a report of the health-room visits to the coordinator of nurse supervisor monthly, a bi-annual student assessment report is performed in September and January, along with an annual report for the state board of nursing.
• Maintain all written records in appropriate location that are relative to students.
• The proposer shall provide services district-wide dependent on the needs of the district.
• This includes but is not limited to all school campuses, special education department, administration offices, and student homes.
• Contractor timesheets must be authorized and signed by the coordinator of nursing.
