The vendor is required to provide for conducting classroom observations in agency programs.
• Assess the quality of teacher-child interactions.
• Ensure compliance with head start performance standards.
• Identify areas for professional development.
• Provide feedback for continuous program improvement.
- Observation framework
• Observations will be conducted using evidence-based assessment tools such as the teaching pyramid observation tool (TPOT) and teaching pyramid infant toddler observation scale (TPITOS) and/or other approved methodologies; the focus will be on:
• Emotional support
• Classroom organization
• Instructional support
- Frequency and scheduling
• Observations will be conducted twice per program year in the fall (October/November) and in the spring (February/march).
• Observers will coordinate with program administrators to minimize disruptions.
