RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide a comprehensive digital mapping solution specifically tailored for individuals who are blind or have low vision.
- The digital mapping system must be compliant with the web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
- Compliance with the Americans with disabilities act (ADA) and other relevant local and federal regulations pertaining to accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
- Ensure compatibility with screen reader technology and other assistive devices.
- System features
• Interactive maps that allow users to identify key airport features, including but not limited to terminals, gates, restrooms, and dining options.
• Offer customizable navigation instructions for various mobility challenges.
• Integration with LIDAR technology to provide real-time locations and movement updates.
• Auditory feedback mechanism to provide users with voice instructions and information.
• Multi-lingual support, enabling non-English speaking users to access information in their preferred language.
• A feedback and response system that allows users to provide input on system usage and features.
• Data on solution usage, common routes, and other items able to be easily shared via a dashboard or other tracking mechanism.
• Easily adaptable; owner has the ability to quickly & easily change routes or footprint based on constantly-changing construction needs.
• Safety-first in wayfinding, where the app will safely guide someone away from ledges, stairwells, or other areas which may be hazardous.
- Technology requirements
• The system should be compatible with both iOS and android mobile platforms.
• It must integrate seamlessly with existing airport information systems including access limited public wireless and cellular networks.
• Utilize cloud-based technology for data storage and processing to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Enable offline usage capabilities in areas with weak internet connectivity.
• Must specify cybersecurity approach to data, security, and user integration and provide any valid certifications and validating reports available (soc2, etc.).
• Uses LIDAR technology to map the passenger-facing airport environment and provide real-time movement information to successfully navigate via the solution.
• Easily integrates into passenger's devices via an application or website, working on either apple or android products.
• Meets or exceeds all ADA, section 508, and WCAG standards in design and function.
• Able to be used both via Wi-Fi and in off-line mode.
• Provides haptic and auditory feedback via the passenger's device.
• Ability to collect user feedback and make changes.
• Data on solution usage, common routes, and other items able to be easily shared via a dashboard or other tracking mechanism.
• Easily adaptable; owner has the ability to quickly & easily change routes or footprint based on constantly-changing construction needs.
• Safety-first in wayfinding, where the app will safely guide someone away from ledges, stairwells, or other areas which may be hazardous.
• Develop a project timeline that outlines all phases of the project, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
