The vendor is required to provide temporary help services for need recent and significant experience with establishing designing and implementing a microsoft asset management process within a large complex organization supporting a federated model.
- Objective:
• Lead an internal review of department microsoft footprint to include the current state of microsoft software deployments on-premise and in the cloud licenses.
• Based on the assessment results, provide recommendations on what can be decommissioned, what areas are deficient and how to optimize microsoft licenses.
• Support and review current processes and provide feedback to improve where needed.
• Provide technical expertise, support, and guidance of microsoft licensing
- Requirement
• Leading and engaging with the software license managers (SLM’s) and ensuring that everybody completes the data gathering by the target date.
• Maintaining a log of all communications in a centralized location.
• Provide quality assurance with data received by the SLM’s to what we have on file.
• Prepare recommendations based off the data received from the SLM’s in preparation for submission to SSC.
• Provide support and technical advice to questions during the review process.
• Provide overall support on the day-to-day tasks of the microsoft portfolio such as actioning tickets and processing emails requests.
• Identify automation processes to improve workflows.
- Tasks
• Plan, coordinate, track and manage the review and audit to successful completion.
• Review the current state of the department microsoft footprint licenses, including new and on-premise requirements.
• Current state information and data collection:
o Through consultations with key stakeholders, review documentation of required data, gather required information to perform the analysis.
o Continually fine tune data collection requirements for the analysis of department microsoft software deployment data for accuracy and to identify gaps.
o Validate data captured from stakeholders to establish current state baseline of both the client and server usage of microsoft licenses.
• Provide reporting including recommendations for department:
o Based on assessment results, develop concrete, actionable go-forward recommendations.
o Prepare a report describing current state gaps, implications, and recommendations for microsoft licensing at v, with a focus on:
a. License cost implications
b. Asset management
c. Process refinement
• Assist in establishing an evaluation process to qualify license quantities and software deployed.
• Support department in the review of microsoft software entitlements at all product levels.
• Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, progress to date, risks etc. - to relevant stakeholders.
