The vendor is required to provide purchase a Trimble r12i real time kinematic (RTK) GPS survey system from cansel survey equipment.
- The system includes base and rover r12i receivers with 3-year warranty, tsc5 handheld data collector with 2-year warranty, perpetual license for Trimble access software, and TDL 450 radio booster kit for extended range.
- Direct purchase is being made for the following reasons:
• To ensure compatibility with existing products:
o Our research group currently owns a Trimble x9 laser scanner which is used for conducting high resolution, 3d models of our field research sites.
o The new Trimble r12i will pair with our existing Trimble x9 scanner by having the ability to share files between the controllers if required, and to automatically georeferenced information for our scans.
o This instrument will replace an old Trimble r8 RTK GPS system that our research group has been using for ~15 years. replacing it with the current Trimble unit will ensure compatibility with past data.
• To recognize exclusive rights:
o Cansel is the only authorized Trimble dealer in country.
o Cansel also has an in-house service center and support network across country for all Trimble equipment.
