The Vendor is required to provide waste and recycling collection services throughout district.
- Waste receptacle requirements:
• Supply receptacles that will range in sizes from .45 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards.
• Will be front loader type and have proper identification of company name, contact information, warning, and approved/non-approved waster for the individual container.
• Will have lockable color-coded lids for the purpose of waste and recycle.
• Wheels on sizes up to and including four cubic yards.
• Containers maintained in good condition by the contracted company.
• Graffiti removed by contacted company in any manner they deem.
• Containers are to be cleaned by contacted service provider at least annually and certain containers as determined by the district and contractor.
• All repairs, cleaning of graffiti, etc. work practices will be done off site by the contracting service provider.
• Pickup times must be consistent.
• Extra pickups are to be made same day if contacted by 10:00am.
• All school pickups must be made by 11:00am.
• Special pickup times my have to be scheduled to facilitate student safety.
- Responsibility to cleanup following a pickup process-area that becomes littered with debris because of the pickup process, will be cleaned up to a satisfactory condition by the driver.
- Any fluid spills including but not limited to hydraulic oil, fuel, coolant, etc. must be promptly cleaned up and reported to the maintenance/custodial services department.
- Trucks are to be of adequate size and quantity, and maintained by the contracted company to be certifiable and licensable condition to ensure the reliability, and safety of the district employees, students and patrons alike, or they will not be allowed on district property.
• Must have audible back-up alarms and back-up monitoring system installed and in working order.
• High visibility reflective decals and vehicle striping.
• Depending on the area, the local noise ordinance will dictate the earliest possible tipping for the site.
- Drivers are to be property trained and licensed as required by law.
- Additionally, quarterly trainings are to be held by the contractor to stress the dangerous environmental conditions present on school sites occupied by children and minors.
- These trainings can be held in conjunction with other company directed trainings.
- Pick-up and property dispose of all categories of waste, including;
• General waste: including dry and wet kitchen waste, office waste, custodial waste, and shop waste
• Recyclable waste: plastics, paper, and metals
• Landscaping/construction waste: includes but not limited to landscaping and construction debris (no asbestos)
- Additional pickups:
• Provide point of contact for scheduling additional pickups when specific locations need additional collection after unforeseen usage or other events.
- Flexibility in providing additional collections is needed.
• The district will pay an extra charge for any additional pickups; the additional fee is to be provided in the cost proposal.
- Any scheduled pick-ups that are missed will be deducted from monthly billings.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
