The vendor is required to provide for the removal of recyclables and trash such as bulk refuse, waste, and construction debris, excluding hazardous waste, as well as provision of dumpsters and roll-off containers.
- Requirements
• Three 2-cubic yard dumpsters for disposal of municipal solid waste.
• One 2-cubic yard dumpster for disposal of comingled recycling.
• Two 2-cubic yard dumpsters for paper/cardboard recycling.
• One 20-cubic yard roll-off container for disposal of construction and demolition materials (C&D).
• One 20-cubic yard roll-off container for recycling of ferrous scrap metal, only upon agency request.
• Removal of recycled batteries and lightbulbs, only upon agency request.
1. Municipal solid waste
• Municipal solid waste includes, but is not limited to, mixed waste, office waste and food waste.
• The contractor shall be responsible for providing the requested sized containers, servicing the containers and all waste collected must be transported to a waste processing facility for disposal.
2. Comingled recycling
• Comingled recyclables include, but is not limited to, cans, bottles, plastics, and aluminum which are collected and delivered to a recycler where they are sorted into various commodity streams and recycled.
• The contractor shall be responsible for providing the requested sized containers, servicing the containers and delivering all materials to the appropriate recycler for proper recycling.
3. Paper and cardboard recycling
• The recycling of paper and cardboard includes, but is not limited to, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, office paper, colored paper, paperboard packaging, brown bags, flat cardboard and phone books.
• This may also include high grade paper products.
• The contractor shall be responsible for providing the requested sized containers, servicing the containers and delivering all materials to the appropriate recycler for proper recycling.
4. Construction and demolition materials
• The disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) materials, which are generated during renovation or demolition work includes, but is not limited to, aggregates such as concrete, asphalt, asphalt shingles, gypsum wallboard, wood and metals.
• C&D materials often contain bulky, heavy materials and salvaged building components.
• The contractor shall be responsible for providing the requested sized containers, servicing the containers and delivering to an appropriate landfill for disposal.
• The waste materials generated by the day-to-day activities or small reconstruction projects undertaken by agency and is not intended for use with large scale construction projects.
5. Ferrous scrap metal
• The recycling of ferrous scrap metal includes metal goods such as metal furniture, lawn mowers, barbecue grills, bicycles, appliances, automotive parts, metal roofing, scrap steel plate and steel pipe.
• The recycling of non-ferrous, precious metals such as aluminum, copper, brass or stainless steel.
• All scrap metals collected must be delivered for recycling.
• The roll off for this type of recycling shall be provided upon request, alternating out the roll off container for C&D material.
• Only one 20-cubic yard roll off can be at the premises at once.
6. Lightbulbs and batteries
• The pickup of various lightbulbs and batteries shall occur on an as needed basis.
