The Vendor is required to provide operates demand response services for people with disabilities, and for those living outside the fixed-route service area, on-demand services, senior mobility services, ride share, and vanpooling programs.
- Ability to change the operational characteristics of the bus model in the software between different makes and models of buses, including those in agency fleet, with the options to add additional partner-agency vehicles in the future.
- Intelligent and realistic simulation of road traffic, pedestrian movement, passenger boarding and alighting, and varying traffic conditions (including other transit vehicles) with a high degree of customization.
- The system shall also support loading of optional virtual worlds created and selected by our partner agencies.
- User-friendly scenario editor enabling creation of customized training situations
- Auxiliary control station enabling manual interaction within the virtual world using either a steering wheel, joystick, and/or a keyboard to control vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
- Viewing monitor for instructor observation or group training.
- The Transit Bus Simulator System and all associated equipment shall be designed and installed to efficiently fit within the layout of the designated simulator space while maintaining proper clearance for operation, access, and maintenance.
- The Simulator System components shall include integrated cooling fans or equivalent ventilation to maintain appropriate operating temperatures for all hardware.
- Provide a proposed layout drawing of all Simulator Systems and associated equipment within the designated installation space.
- The Fixed Route Driver Cab shall include, at a minimum, the roof, flooring, enclosure openings, dashboard, front passenger door, and windows necessary to replicate the operator’s environment.
- The resulting visual performance, image quality, and responsiveness shall be functionally equivalent to physical mirrors and deliver a realistic, high-fidelity representation of mirror perspective consistent with real-world operation.
- The Driver Cab Enclosure shall include sufficient standing space for an instructor to observe and coach the trainee from over the right shoulder, without obstructing any of the forward or side mirror views of the training environment. This standing space shall also comfortably accommodate individuals ranging in height from 5’0” to 7’0” in height to stand comfortably.
- Realistic horn sound logged in the reporting module and reproduced through the Simulator System audio system.
- Digital screen dashboard displays for consideration as part of their proposal, provided they authentically reproduce the look, layout, and functionality of the actual vehicle instrumentation.
