The Vendor is required to provide to improve part identification, enhance tracking accuracy, and elevate data quality across its warehouses and business units.
- By transitioning from manual part labeling to an automated smart labeling system, agency intends to address current inefficiencies and promote automated and cohesive asset lifecycle management.
- Facing a significant challenge in managing parts and assets across their lifecycle due to a lack of systematic part identification/labeling and decentralized processes using various Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and technologies.
- Disparate systems including Smartsheet, spreadsheets, EAM systems including Maximo and Cascade are used to manage inventory and maintain assets without integration, in silos of information causing data duplication, errors and inefficiencies.
- This initiative aims to address current inefficiencies and enhance data quality, accuracy, and tracking across all warehouses and business units.
- Project will initially focus on integrating smart labels within supply chain warehouses, with future plans to extend smart label asset tracking and management practices throughout the entire asset lifecycle, from warehouse operations to end-of-life and disposal activities.
- Assess location-specific constraints related to item accessibility, including outdoor locations exposed to rain and other environmental conditions, high shelves in storerooms, hard-to-reach locations in warehouse storage locations, specialized printer availability to print individual and mass quantity labels, and warehouse configurations.
