The Vendor is required to provide tele-counseling platform and services to provide a convenient and cost‐effective way for university students to receive mental health support for common conditions that can be safely and accurately diagnosed and treated online.
- These services are being sought to supplement services already provided by student health centers and student counseling centers.
- Depending on each university’s needs, Tele-Counseling Services may also be extended to faculty and staff as a provided benefit to employees.
- Assistance in finding available local programs based on institution and availability in those institutions’ locale including but not limited to: food pantries, transportation, outreach, and nonprofit programs.
- Assistance could also include but not be limited to: assistance in determining eligibility, support through enrollment of programs, assistance in locating nutritious and sufficient food, safe and secure housing, and healthcare for mental and physical well-being, affordable technology and transportation, resources for personal hygiene, childcare-related needs, and legal services.
- The student counseling services, or designee, at each institution will control which students receive no-cost-to-students psychiatry services utilizing a system which allows the platform to recognize such referral. Students can then schedule virtual psychiatry visits at their preferred date and time. A designee at each individual institution will oversee the distribution of psychiatry visits. An efficient and effective system should be provided to keep each institution’s point of contact fully aware of the allocated visits and appropriate protocol. Psychiatry is a service only requested for students and services are not needed for faculty / staff.
- Students and employees would be able to pick their counselors from a diverse selection based on areas of expertise (eating disorders, depression, substance abuse disorder, etc.), along with the date and time of the appointment.
