The Vendor is required to provide to support the development of a comprehensive distributed energy resource management system (DERMS).
- The current capabilities and future roadmaps of DERMS solutions that can support the full lifecycle management of distributed energy resources (DERs), including those:
• Directly connected to the distribution system, and
• Behind the meter, across both residential and commercial customer segments.
- Identify solutions that can:
• Orchestrate and optimize DERs to support grid reliability, decarbonization, and affordability
• Enable customer participation in DER programs and grid services
• Integrate seamlessly with agency existing operational and customer systems
• Scale and evolve with emerging technologies and regulatory frameworks
- Provide real-time or near-real-time feedback on energy usage and curtailment opportunities.
- Support behavioral demand response, gamification, and incentive-based engagement.
- Integrate with customer portals, mobile apps, the utility’s billing system, or smart home devices.
- Identifying DERMS platforms that offer:
o Integrated management of DERs and DR programs across multiple aggregators and platforms— providing a unified, “single pane of glass” for operators.
o Aggregator-of-aggregators functionality, enabling coordination between utility-owned DERs and third-party aggregators managing their own DER fleets.
o Seamless integration with agency existing on-premises systems such as SCADA, ADMS, Billing
o System (CC&B) and GIS, to support real-time grid operations and enhanced locational grid services.
o Advanced dispatch capabilities, including forecast-based and event-driven dispatch for:
o ERCOT 4CP peak shaving
o Wholesale market price response
o Demand response events
o Performance monitoring and analytics, including post-event analysis and data collection.
o Operator dashboards with configurable automation and decision support tools.
