A government agency in Maryland issued “Bus Planning and Routing Software” (RFP). Solicitation SYS-7010 closes on December 3, 2026. Eligibility: USA Organization. Submissions via Email.
Vendors to provide bus routing and planning software solution shall be a currently-in-production, cloud/web-based platform (compliant with
current versions of major browsers) capable of providing, at minimum, the following functionality for the FCPS bus fleet.
i. Route planning, optimization, and scheduling — including driving paths and stop sequencing.
ii. Redistricting and boundary/zone planning capability.
iii. Historical data storage and retrieval for a minimum of one five (5) year for operational routing data — FCPS Records Management should confirm this against applicable Maryland records retention schedules.
iv. Integration capability with FCPS' student information system, PowerSchool SIS, for student and route data import.
v. Integration capability with Bus Stars, or the creation of a compatible export file for upload.
vi. Custom and standard reporting, exportable to common formats (.XLSX, .PDF, .HTML,.TXT etc.).
vii. User permission management supporting unlimited or tiered named users as proposed.
viii. Software should be Calendar based or allow for ‘what if’ scenarios (up to an including all routes simultaneously) without affecting live routes.
ix. Two separate “travel networks”, i.e., speed, direction of travel (one way), turn restrictions:
one network for Special Education (small buses) and a separate network for Regular Education (big buses).
x. Point addressing on Map. ESRI-compatible GIS maps/layers/shapefiles.
xi. Ability to customize and create student records within the software
xii. Track individual users live to review what was completed in a day: admin. feature.
