The Vendor is required to provide the department, office non-legal, in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter(s) to assist an employee with day-to-day activities and job-required training on an as-needed basis.
- All ASL interpreters assigned to this contract must be proficient in interpreting spoken English to ASL and ASL to spoken English.
- All ASL interpreters assigned to this contract must provide a resume.
- All interpreters working under this contract must maintain ethical business practices which include competency, reliability, and honesty.
- The interpreter is expected to perform in-person ASL interpretation services for meetings or training. There are two levels of required service:
• Service for meetings with a minimum of two hours (may be more or less time depending on the length of meeting)
• Service for training, extending meetings, and other work-related events that are scheduled for longer than two hours.
- For all assignments greater than one hour in length, a minimum of two interpreters will be required to avoid repetitive stress injuries caused by non-stop ASL discourse.
- Work hours will be between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm with a half-hour lunch break for services over 5 hours.
- It is anticipated that an interpreter will be used on an as-needed basis with a minimum of two hours per request.
