Supply of Interpreter Services

The vendor is required to provide interpretation services for applicants and clients via telephone and in-person when requested.
- Provide confidential human interpreter and translation services for clients of the city to english from a wide range of languages, including but not limited to, French, Ukrainian, Arabic, Spanish, Punjabi, Italian, mandarin, and Cantonese.
• Interpreters and translators have been screened by the contractor for suitability; 
• Interpreters and translators adhere to client confidentiality and compliance requirements, in accordance with the acts.
• The services are available by scheduled appointment and on demand between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays; and 
• All services are provided in a culturally sensitive and gender specific manner while maintaining professional boundaries. 
• If the contractor is unable to offer the language required for interpretation to english, the city reserves the right to seek out another contractor to meet this language requirement.

• Provide confidential interpretation for clients by telephone or in-person. 
• The ability to provide this service by scheduled appointment upon the request of the city. 
• Provide this service; if they are unable to locate an interpreter, they will inform the city of employee that made the request to allow them to make alternate arrangements. 
• The contractor will offer scheduled appointments as per the below:
o Scheduled appointments will be completed by telephone or in-person between 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. 
o In-person appointments are infrequent and will be quoted on a case-by-case basis with the contractor. 
o The contractor is required to provide in-person appointments when required.
o For scheduled appointments the contractor will call the city of employee that made the request. 
o Scheduled appointments should be available within 48 hours from the time the request is made by the city of employee.
