The Vendor is required to provide services will include consulting assistance in the area of workers compensation in fulfilling its obligations under the workers’ compensation act, along with as an administrator for police and fire injured-on-duty claims.
- Provide a straightforward and concise description of the proposer’s commitment and ability to perform the services
- Keep the City up to date on trends and changes in the workers’ compensation law and medical cost containment initiatives.
- Coordinate medical case management for injured employees and provide appropriate case management strategy to ensure proper protocols and best practices with respect to minimizing overall medical and lost time costs.
- Provide “on call” consultation services including legal, to support the City with problems relating to issues involving worker’s compensation and Injured on Duty claims. Strategies including recommendation for case resolution and closure, including lump sum settlements, ADR, or formal discontinuance.
- Conduct an annual analysis of the claims generated by the City and report the same to the City.
-Medical management, including utilization review (UR), scheduling of independent medical examinations (IME) and treatment performance monitoring.
- Perform surveillance when needed
- Provide the City with timely information on all major or litigated claims.
- File maintenance. Maintain all documentation and files resulting from employee injuries including the DIA Forms, accident reports and wage forms.
