The Vendor is required to provide for the state interpreter mentoring program (IMP).
- The IMP aims to develop and support interpreters by providing structured mentoring to promote national certification and ensure high-quality interpreting services statewide.
- The program serves state residents and those within 50 miles of its border who are registered or intend to register with the state.
- Eligibility and Certification
• Be deaf or hard of hearing and a native American Sign Language (ASL) user, or
• Possess a National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent for three or more years.
- Language and Cultural Competency
• Demonstrate fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Demonstrate knowledge of Deaf Culture and Deaf Community values.
- Has the ability to provide mentoring services in-person and/or through virtual platforms.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
