The vendor is required to provide marketing and communications consulting and support services to the institute that will include the development of a strategic marketing communications plan for the institute.
- The plan will serve as a roadmap for the in-house development, implementation and dissemination of strategies as outlined in the marketing communications plan to support the role and mission of the institute as laid out in state statute.
1. Creation of a strategic marketing communications plan that includes:
• Strategies and tactics that support the overall marketing and communication as well as advancement goals of the institute.
• Identification of key metrics to monitor and measure the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives.
• Strategies that include coverage of key outcomes and advancements facilitated by the institute:
o In ALL major markets of state
o National markets, when appropriate
o Key stakeholder groups (e.g., cannabis regulators, state legislators, interested citizens, cannabis industry, clinicians, cannabis researchers, etc.)
2. Marketing strategies that include:
• Visual content recommendations (photographs, short videos, graphic design, info graphics) for web and social media, events, promotion of the journal of cannabis research (sponsored by the institute), and presentation templates.
• Creation of branded templates for key collateral including:
o Annual report
o Newsletter
o Flyers
o Other
• Assist the institute in managing media inquiries.
• Communications strategies for web and social media (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), events, promotion of the journal of cannabis research (sponsored by the institute), and presentation templates.
• Strategies for website content.
• Development of key messaging for emails, talking points, e-newsletters and articles, and social media - ensuring consistency throughout all communication - breaking down complex information into smaller pieces that are understandable.
3. Reporting
• Regular reporting to institute staff and governing board
• Leadership in crafting the institute annual report (statutory requirement for the institute).
