The vendor is required to provide public communications relations support- including public relations, crisis and issues management, and strategic counsel - to supplement the work of the communications and community engagement department.
a. Strategic and supplemental communications
• Support development and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns.
• Ensure continuity of messaging across city channels during periods of high workload.
• Provide guidance on media strategy, crisis response, and key messaging.
b. Media and public relations
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and statements.
• Pitch stories that highlight city initiatives, events, and accomplishments.
• Assist in coordinating responses to media inquiries.
c. Reporting and coordination
• Provide monthly reports summarizing activities and measurable outcomes.
• Hold regular check-ins with the communications manager to review priorities and ensure coordination.
• Strategic recommendations to strengthen city communications capacity.
• Supplemental media outreach and content support, coordinated with the communications manager.
• Monthly activity reports with outcomes and recommendations.
