The vendor is required to provide media relations services will help enhance our public profile, manage media outreach and support strategic communications initiatives.
1. Goal setting, tracking and measurement
• Coordinate with agency staff to identify measurable and realistic media and public relations goals in at least two areas:
o Financial and investment management and
o Benefits and pension system administration.
• Create a subsequent plan(s) that includes effective and creative strategies to achieve established goals.
• Maintain a comprehensive report that itemizes pitches, coverage, reach, value, etc. agency will have real-time access to this report.
2. Media coordination
• Create and maintain a list of local, regional, national and international media who cover topics such as financial and investment management, and benefits and pension system administration.
• Coordinate with agency to create a digital media kit that supports media relations efforts. (Biographies, backgrounders, videos, etc.)
• Meet with agency as necessary to discuss newsworthy topics.
• Create and maintain relationships with targeted media.
• Monitor relevant media and journalists’ social media accounts to identify opportunities to build relationships and pitch stories related to the media or journalists’ interest area.
• Monthly, as determined by agency, pitch an established number of news stories, interview opportunities, etc.
• On monthly basis, the vendor will collaborate with agency to determine the next month’s quantifiable pitching and coverage goals.
3. Media training
• Provide ongoing media training, including message creation and preparation for interviews, and assessments of performance, as requested by agency.
• As necessary, travel with the CEO and other staff to in-person interviews and attend virtual interviews to ensure a successful outcome.
- Annual billing is not expected to exceed $100,000.
