The Vendor is required to provide an experienced art publicist - either an individual or a firm - to develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing and communications strategy for the launch of a new piece of public art, commissioned to honor the 2027 centennial of the university.
- Goals:
• Design and implement a global marketing and communications strategy for the public art launch.
• Develop compelling storytelling that highlights the significance of the University’s centennial celebration, the role and importance of the public-art commission within the larger centennial narrative, and the importance of the commission relative to the University’s existing and very large collection of public art.
• Align all communications with the university’s internal strategic priorities and external brand positioning.
• Ensure readiness and responsiveness in crisis communications related to the project.
- Strategy Development:
• Draft a detailed global marketing and communications plan, including a communications timeline, tailored to maximize the impact of the public art launch.
• Identify key audiences, channels, and messaging approaches both locally and internationally.
• Advise on activation, opening, programming, and fundraising strategies that engage the piece and the artist and that capitalize on—and fit within—the University’s planned Centennial celebrations.
- Storytelling & Content Creation:
• Craft narratives that celebrate the university’s centennial and the new public art’s role in this milestone.
• Produce press releases, media pitches, social media content, and multimedia assets that reflect the university’s values and strategic priorities.
- Internal & External Alignment:
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to ensure messaging alignment with internal goals.
• Develop external communications that promote the university’s reputation and visibility.
- Crisis Communications:
• Provide expertise and guidance in preparing for and managing potential communications crises related to the public art launch.
• Develop protocols and messaging for rapid response to unforeseen events or controversies.
- Media Relations:
• Engage with local, national, and international media outlets to secure coverage of the public art launch and centennial.
• Organize and manage press events, interviews, and media briefings as needed.
- Reporting & Measurement:
• Track and report on campaign performance, media coverage, and audience engagement.
• Adjust strategies as necessary to maximize impact and alignment with university goals.
