Supply of Coconut Shell Based GAC Media and Related Services

The vendor required to provide supply coconut shell based granular activated carbon (GAC media) and related services on an as-needed basis.
- GAC Media Services
1. GAC Media Supplier Experience Qualifications:
•    The GAC Media supplier shall submit the following information for a minimum of three (3) projects where the GAC Media supplier has furnished and installed GAC Media for the treatment of groundwater. 
•    This information shall be provided to demonstrate the GAC Media Supplier’s ability to furnish and supply GAC Media.
2. GAC Media Supply:
•    Granular Activated Carbon:
o    Origin of GAC Media.
o    Iodine Number (mg/g)
o    Abrasion Number (Minimum)
o    Effective Size
o    Screen Analysis – on 8 mesh (maximum %)
o    through 30 mesh (maximum %)
o    Water Soluble Ash (maximum %)
o    Total Ash (maximum %)
o    Moisture Content, As Packed (maximum %)
o    Total Phosphate, As PO4 (maximum %)
o    NSF Approval Number
•    Demonstrate ability to both remove spent GAC Media and to supply complete GAC Media fill in a timely manner upon notification by the Authority.
•    Demonstrate ability to transport GAC Media to site and transfer same from delivery units into absorbers within five (5) working days from the receipt of written or verbal “Notification to Proceed.” 
•    Due to Authority experiences during summer heat waves, a five (5) working daytime period between the receipt of written or verbal “Notification to Proceed” and the completion of the GAC Media changeout has been determined to be necessary and will be strictly enforced. 
•    Provide typical delivery trailer drawings, number of trailers, tractors, and drivers currently available. 
•    Provide delivery trailer unloading procedures. 
•    Provide delivery trailer lining information showing that such lining is on the FDA approved list. 
•    Provide procedures used to ensure that virgin GAC Media is transported in only FDA Food Grade Certified Trailers.
