- The university is preparing for the public phase of this campaign amidst a period of institutional transition, including a presidential leadership change, evolving budgetary and resource realities, and a heightened focus on cross-campus collaboration and principal gift strategy.
- The university seeks counsel that will:
1. Strengthen transformational and principal gift strategy and related pipeline development
• Assess and enhance the current principal and transformational gift pipeline.
• Advise on prospect strategy, prospect management, and resource alignment for top-level donors.
• Support leadership and campaign volunteers in deepening principal gift engagement.
2. Guide campaign continuity through presidential transition
• Provide strategies for sustaining campaign momentum and donor confidence during university leadership changes, including a presidential transition.
• Advise on aligning new presidential priorities with existing campaign themes and goals.
• Recommend communications and engagement strategies to reinforce stability and vision.
3. Evaluate resource investment and university budget allocations to support campaign success
• Assess the adequacy of division budgetary resources in meeting campaign demands.
• Benchmark current operations, general fund awards, and staffing investments against best practices for public research universities, particularly those that are in (or have recently embarked on) $1 billion+ comprehensive campaigns.
• Recommend structures and rationales for making compelling cases for additional institutional investments and necessary one-time campaign costs.
4. Enhance cross-campus collaboration and nimble campaign execution
• Provide models and recommendations for coordinated campaign planning across schools, colleges, other fund-seeking units, and administrative divisions, as well as for streamlined collaboration across division units.
• Identify opportunities to align evolving university priorities with philanthropic opportunities.
• Suggest policies, practices, and governance approaches that enable flexible and effective campaign management and adequate engagement of key university stakeholders.
