The Vendor is required to provide a marketing and events contractor who will coordinate, develop, plan, execute, evaluate, and recommend improvements for marketing and advertising campaigns, brand identity design and management, media and community relations, events and partnerships, social media platforms, and website updates under the direction of the department.
- Strategic Marketing and Advertising Campaign Management
• Develop strategic marketing plans in collaboration with the department that align with the goals outlined in the economic development strategic plan.
• Implement both organic and paid tactics to achieve campaign objectives.
• Example: coordinate, develop, plan, execute, and evaluate the production and distribution of bureau mailers to over 5,000 county businesses with the goal of fostering engagement with the department.
- Media and Community Relations
• Prepare and distribute press releases on behalf of the department.
• Draft and obtain approval for media quotes on behalf of department leadership and for the board of supervisors for select events and uses.
• Act as the department’s media liaison.
• Manage and oversee the online newsroom by creating content, adding content submitted by partnering organizations with event submissions, and posting to the department’s website.
• Provide media resources and support to county businesses and connect them with local media contacts.
- Events & Partnerships
• With department support, coordinate, develop, plan, execute ribbon- cutting ceremonies, as well as host a pre-event meeting with stakeholders to create run of- show. Draft run-of-show to include business history/facts/key people to know to best prepare the dignitaries for the event, create board of supervisor talking points and media quotes, and seek department approval for the program and run of-show. This would include approximately 30 events per year.
• Coordinate, develop, plan, execute, evaluate and make suggestions for quarterly business resource events, with coordination and direction from the department.
• Support pre- and post-event marketing communication for conference exhibits.
• Maintain the online business event calendar.
• Provide marketing and communications support for events or memberships sponsored by the department.
- General Marketing and Communications
• Assist in coordinating, developing, and planning email marketing campaigns in collaboration with the department.
• Support the management of social media platforms in collaboration with the department specialist team.
• Track and report on interactions using data analytics tracking and CRM tools.
• Support website and digital listing maintenance to keep an optimized digital presence.
• Assist in coordinating media assets for the department in collaboration with the department.
